“The ground began to shake The stone was rolled “The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated

Forever He is glorified
Forever He is lifted high
Forever He is risen
He is alive, He is alive!”

This may be a strange Easter and the first one in all my life that I haven’t spent in a Church. But just as the churches are empty today so is the tomb. He is Risen.
In this sometimes dark and very uncertain time we need the Good News more than ever. Despite everything going on in the world the light of the Gospel is as bright as ever. Today my family will celebrate our Savior who gave hope to us all. It is through Him that I have a living, breathing faith that gives me hope. Hallelujah He is Risen, just as He said!

This season has been one of weeding and pruning fo This season has been one of weeding and pruning for a lot of us. ⠀
⠀
We’ve been forced to weed out all the busy from our lives, prune the schedule and trim down to spending time in the four walls of our home with the ones we love the most. ⠀
⠀
Time has taken on a different quality in quarantine for my family. We’ve given ourselves permission to slow down and do stuff just for fun on a weekday evening, because where else do we have to be right now? ⠀
⠀
When all of this is over, and I do have faith that this season isn’t forever, a lot of us will be rushing to return to normal. But let’s take this time to truly decide what parts of normal are serving us. What parts of normal are making us better people, closer families, more loving partners. ⠀
⠀
I know for me I intend to keep a lot more of these slow, sweet times just sitting on the back porch with my family or going on family walks. ⠀
⠀
What parts of quarantine life do you want to keep when we all go “back to normal?”

In case you were ever in need of a fancy YouTube e In case you were ever in need of a fancy YouTube educated hair stylist, I’m your gal 😜

Quarantine life has got us feeling all kinds of crazy over here. Chris gave me the green light a few days ago to tackle his super long hair since he was in desperate need of a haircut and it doesn’t look like a trip to the barber was going to happen anytime soon.
Need an exercise in marital trust this week? Take a set of clippers to your spouse’s head 😂😂 What crazy stuff have you had to just do yourself during quarantine?

With everything going on life has definitely felt With everything going on life has definitely felt somewhat out of control these last few weeks. ⠀
⠀
So to combat the helplessness of this super weird and scary time I have been digging in really hard on the things I can control. My daily habits. ⠀
⠀
I might not be able to change or control what’s going on around me but I can certainly control how I respond and what habits I’m practicing to combat the anxiety overload of social distancing and uncertainty. ⠀
⠀
I’ve followed @msrachelhollis’s 5 to Thrive for years. And in this weird and crazy time I’ve been so grateful to have those habits to dive into to keep me grounded. ⠀
⠀
Also during social distancing/quarantine I’ve picked up some new daily habits (like family daily walks) to help me keep my crap together and to deal with the stress and anxiety that could take me down on a daily basis if I let it. ⠀
⠀
👆🏻Check out the link in my bio for a new blog post on all the daily habits that are keeping me grounded and looking up. ⠀
⠀
9️⃣0️⃣And if you want to join me and thousands of others who practice the #5toThrive daily then hop in on the #Next90Challenge over @msrachelhollis or @mrdavehollis. ⠀
⠀
Instead of spending each day worried and stressed spend this time building up a better version of you that will serve you and those around you for years to come 💪🏻

It’s hard to believe these pictures were taken a It’s hard to believe these pictures were taken a little more than a month ago. It honestly feels like a lifetime ago now. ⠀
⠀
In what were much simpler times the kiddos and I hopped in the car and surprised my grandfather in Virginia for his 80th birthday party. It was such a wonderful weekend spent with family celebrating both of my grandparents (their birthdays are 1 day apart, 2 years difference. How sweet is that) ⠀
⠀
Being cooped up inside with so much of the world around us uncertain has been a day to day roller coaster. Some days I cope well, focusing on my routines and habits. Other days I start thinking about how life was so different just a few short weeks ago. ⠀
⠀
It’s ok if you’re living day to day too. None of us have ever been through something like this and we’re all simply doing the best we can. ⠀
⠀
This crisis won’t be forever though. And when this is all over I encourage each of you to hop in the car and go visit family far away if you can. So much of this brings what really matters in life into perspective. ⠀
